Michael was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He got his first drum set at the age of 6 years old. Since then he has studied with many teachers such as:

 -Mark Craney (Gino Vannelli, Jethro Tull)

-Brett Chassen (Lynch Mod, Michael Sheckner, Dee Snider) 

-John Wicks (Fitz and The Tantrums, Bruno Mars, Iggy Pop)  

-Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr, ELO, Steve Vai)

Michael creates music at his studio, Nightshade Sounds in North Hollywood, Ca.
